03:10 pm: New Kid on the Block
Okay, okay, I did it. I resisted for a long time. But I can't stand watching everyone else play without me. So - can I play, too? I feel like the new kid at school sitting alone in the cafeteria with no friends. Gulp.... So...who will play with me? I'm worried that I'll be the only author in the blogosphere who only has the LJ Maintenance Crew for a friend.

OOH! ME! ME! I'll play with you!!!
Like you need another friend, huh? ;-)
Congratulations, Barb! And welcome to the addictive online blogging world. :-) I've recently become more involved myself and begun posting. I have a Live Journal just so that I can post without being anonymous, but my blog got *birthed* at blogspot which I put some links too on my Live Journal. Every day I read several agents blogs and have learned about a lot of new authors which has been a ton of fun. The blogging world is MASSIVE and overwhelming, but you can always just *dip your toe*, too. I bookmark the ones I want to return to which makes them easier to find later. I need to do more of this "friending" thing, but I'm still not sure exactly how this works . . .I'll be listening in for other's tips and advice, too. Have fun! Oh! can somebody give me tips on how to get rid of all the Live Journal advertising junk on my Journal home page? I can't figure some of this out. Thanks!
By the way, your book (my book) is on its way to you. You should have it any day now.
Kimberly, it looks like you have a "Plus Account," which gives you added features at the cost of sponsored advertising. To eliminate the ads, you either have to switch to a paid account (around $20 a year, I think) or a free account. With a free account, you will lose some features. You can change your type of account easily from your account page, where it says "Level" it will say what kind of account you have and will have a link that says (change) next to it. Hope this helps.
THANK YOU, Melissa! Going off to figure this out . . .

If I can do it, you can! The blogging world is a great way to share information. Welcome!
I'll always remember you as my first. :-)
Welcome to blogging. I'm sure you'll think of something at least as interesting as what I come up with.
If I start writing about what I had for breakfast, stop me.
Added ya, my soul sister! And I'll blog about it and point folks in this direction. Welcome to LJ! Now, get a load of MySpace...okay, okay, I won't rush you! ;-)
MySpace? No way.... It's too scary coming out. I much prefer my lurker cave.

Forget that loner in the cafeteria. Girl, you're gonna be a diva around here. :)
Welcome, Barb! Do you realize we "met" about a hundred years ago over on the old AOL boards? And now, here we are at LJ. I don't think the AOL boards even exist anymore. It is a friendly crew here. You'll like it.
And congrats on the new book and great reviews! Love the title!
yes, goldens are the best! I have two (and lots of hair to go with them ; )
Hey Barb!
I heard about you through Susan. Welcome to LJ--I friended you. Wow, what a great list of books to your credit. I'm going to look for them!
Banjopicker, aka Marybeth
It looks like the maintenance crew will have to wait in line to play with you. So many of my LJ friends pointed me here, I couldn't resist. Welcome!

Hi and welcome to Live Journal! Susan sent me. :-) I've added you as a friend. I may not be much but I'm more interesting than the maintenance guy. Slightly.
